CASSINI'S MISSION FINALE

After almost 20 years in space, NASA's Cassini spacecraft has begun the final chapter of its remarkable story of exploration: its Grand Finale.

This last phase of the mission will deliver unprecedented views of Saturn and its rings. Cassini will complete 22 of these ring-gap orbits before making a grand finale dive into Saturn’s atmosphere.

BLACK HOLE SIDESHOW (5-12)

Anything that gets too close to a black hole is dragged inside and is never released. A black hole's gravity is so strong that even light cannot escape!

The “Black Holes: By the Numbers” slideshow offers a compelling look at these eerie formations in space. To watch the slideshow, go to

JOURNEY TO MARS WEBINARS (PRE-K-12)

In June, NASA Educator Professional Development webinars will explore the technology that will enable humans to eventually travel to Mars.

The series includes materials that may adapted for levels from pre-kindergarten level to highs school. For topic details and a complete schedule, visit

NASA DIGITAL BADGE FOR EDUCATORS (K-12)

On May 31, the NASA Educator Professional Development Collaborative is offering a free webinar on earning digital badges (microcreditials) through NASA online learning experiences.

The NASA EPDC Digital Badging system offers various opportunities for educators to learn about NASA topics and classroom activities while earning hours of professional development. The session will walk through the Digital Badging system and look through some current opportunities available.
